DONDA

As I am sure you have already heard, Kanye West couldn’t sleep last night so he decided to fire off 86 tweets about his plans to “pick up where Steve Jobs left off” and inspire the world to come together in a relentless global brainstorm on all levels of creativity. Although I have been a pretty tough critic of Kanye’s in the past, especially his attempt at being a fashion designer, I have to give him a virtual high-five for this. If there is something Kanye is undoubtedly good at, its catching peoples attention and its about time celebrities of the world turn all that spot-light into positive energy.  He is asking people all over the world to step up and join him on what could be one of the worlds biggest creative cultivations to date. DONDA, the name of his new company, is looking to bring reform to the world as a whole with a focus on educating the youth. YOU GO KANYE, you have my endorsement. Catch up with his rant on twitter @kanyewest or check out some of my personal favorite tweets from the 3hr escapade below.

“What good is fame and prestige if you can’t use it to help people… I want to help by doing what I know how to do best .. create”

“…To dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need.. To marry our wants and needs.”

“We can collectively effect the world trough design. We need to pick up where steve jobs left off”

GISELE x GIVENCHY SPRING 2012 CAMPAIGN

There are no two brands I love more than Gisele Bundchen (yes, she is a brand.) and Givenchy. Shot by the always amazing Mert + Marcus , Gisele looks insane in this stormy beach scene. Our (tropical baseball) hats are off to you Tisci, you’ve done it yet again.

REED KRAKOFF

I first heard about Krakoff in a half-page spotlight feature in ELLE magazine a few years ago and something about his work ethic, simplistic designs and insane attention to detail was so compelling. He saved the Coach empire with his own two hands all the while launching his own coveted label. Not only is he an incredible designer but he is a smart, quick witted and exceptionally talented business man. We can all take a lesson from Reed each day as well venture out to fulfill our goals and follow our dreams. Below is an excerpt from the “Magazine” section he just launched on his website, a top 10 must have list for every woman. Enjoy!

ITEM TO WATCH: VISORS

Although I will be the first to admit that more often than not, certain runway trends never actually make it, well, off the runway; this is one abstract accessory that has serious potential. The “visor” has already made its way into the hearts of bloggers all over the world which is usually the first step to global acceptance. Of course there are probably golfers and senior citizens all over the USA claiming they’ve been wearing this trend for decades but as we all know, fashion is truly determined by the right timing. Whether this visor trend has staying power is truly up to the consumer but I think it is a great alternative to the classical fedora we’ve been seeing for a few years now. Check out the various photos below and be the judge for yourself.

FLUORESCENT ABERRATION

With all this SS12 fever in the air its hard not to become image crazy as you surf the web. From runway shows to tumblrs you start off browsing one show which reminds you of a post on a blog you saw which brings you to five other blogs, eight shopping carts and a desktop littered with jpegs, gifs tifs and madness… trust me, I know. Amidst the overwhelming stimulation and fashion week madness I managed to focus my inspiration into one rather psychedelic sensibility. Sink your teeth into my creative juices and get lost in a world of florescent hues and geometric shapes.
